This painting hold a very strong speech within it that was done by Malcom X. The basis behind this painting is to remind Black Americans just how beautiful they are and who is anyone to say that they are not or that they should hate themselves.

The Barbershop is something that is very dear; a space for free thinking and free speaking. There are set rules within it yet as Black men it is a space to grow.

When integration happened a lot was lost within the Black community. As a people today many do not know some of the inventors or figures that have contributed to America. This piece holds elements of that can help some understand what certain people have done; there are names that many may know; lastly there are names that one must search up.

The Cookout is a sacred space for Black Americans. It is a time to be at peace with your family and friends and is love. However, it is always at risk of being compromised because of invitation.

As safe spaces are invaded and taken the one that is held dear is Black Love. While it may be sacred it is still at jeopardy.
